How Has Fear Prevented You From Living An Abundant Life?

Fear, a word that everyone knows well. As a child, you have probably experienced a fear of the dark. Or perhaps there is a fear of heights, or a fear of crowded places. Maybe you were afraid of the class bully. However, what most people do not realize is the hidden fear that keeps them trapped in mediocrity.

Fear Gives The Illusion That You Are Living Well

To the outside world, you may appear accomplished and successful; however, deep inside there is a feeling that you are not living life at its fullest. Joy, peace, and contentment are missing most days and you just can’t seem to figure out why. Or perhaps, you simply are afraid to do a forensic accounting of your life.

Whatever your fear may be, your physiological, psychological, spiritual, or even financial response is real. Taking it one step further, based on this fear you are often making poor choices that block your growth, even if sometimes it appears that you are making choices that move you forward. The one thing I know about fear is that ultimately it is a negative energy that is not a state of power and love.

Fear May At First Motivate Positive Change

Fear of being poor, overweight, or losing the race, will often motivate most people initially to do something positive to avoid or change the situation. Unfortunately, this initial instinct for survival or to win can become distorted. Before you become aware of it, every choice you make is now controlled by fear. No longer do you live in a state or act from a state of love. Chronic fear has long lasting negative consequences that destroy your quality of life and your total health.

The Negative Consequences Of Chronic Fear

From the perspective of the four pillars of health that are the cornerstones of my total health philosophy, fear impacts EVERY pillar. Let’s be clear, chronic fear is chronic stress to your total being.

Fear impacts the physical pillar by weakening the immune system. Increased cortisol level can cause weight gain and diabetes. Then there are the cardiovascular effects [coronary disease, heart attack, angina, strokes, and hypertension to name a few]. Of course we cannot forget the gastro-intestinal, musculoskeletal, fertility, and skin problems that are caused by chronic fear.

Fear does the most severe damage to your spiritual and psychological pillars. Without love and a strong mind, most people start off making poor and unhealthy choices that become their way of life. This becomes so embedded in their psyche they are not even aware that fear has control of their life and that there is a healthier way to live. Fear is the not so silent threat to your total health and quality of life.

Needless to say, a person living from a state of fear struggles to portray a loving and generous attitude. Their mindset is often one that rejects. While some people may actually have financial success with a fearful attitude, most fearful people are either living from pay-check-to-paycheck, always chasing some get rich quick scheme, or simply broke.

Recognize Where Fear Is Cropping Up In Your Life

Many will be surprised to realize that fear has become one of their closest friends. The insidious nature of fear is what makes it so powerful; yet, I say this with one hundred percent conviction, LOVE always conquers fear.

You are worthy of the investment of money, energy, and time. If you do not believe in you, how will you convince someone else to believe in you. Take the time to examine your story.
