How To Go From Wanting To Having What You Desire

Anything is possible with God. It is simply a matter of whether or not that is His will for your life. Thus, while you may want certain things, if they are not what God has for you, you may not get them. Notice I said, “may,” you may still get things that are not in alignment with God’s will for you; however, I guarantee you that they usually come at a heavy cost. Therefore, the first thing to do when you decide to pursue your desire, is to make sure it is in alignment with God’s will for your life.

TOTAL HEALTH IS COMPROMISED WHEN YOU WALK IN THE FLESH

The most important lesson I learned from living in the flesh, according to my will, is that you are never satisfied. The flesh is never satisfied, it will always want more and more and more. Sadly, more is never enough. As a result, you end up destroying your TOTAL HEALTH. Psychologically, your mental framework gets warped, and you become emotionally unbalanced. Then there is physical dis-ease and disease. There is certainly spiritual discomfort and quite frequently you end up with financial problems. That is not to mention the lives of others that may be negatively impacted by your decision to live in the flesh. “The flesh has no interest in discipline or self-control and operates from a state of paucity.”

DESIRES THAT ARE IN ALIGNMENT WITH GOD’S WILL

Those desires are the ones that come from a state of love and abundance. Putting your best foot forward to honor God, without selfish motives, is an example of a desire that is in alignment with God’s will. God wants us to be our best, which incorporates my TOTAL HEALTH philosophy of living abundantly. Helping others without expectations is another goal or desire that is in alignment with God’s will. Serving God and the church is also another goal that is in alignment with God’s will. We can all serve God no matter our profession or career. Walking in the spirit does not detract from our lives, rather it enhances the fullness of our lives.

PUTTING YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD IS NOT PERFECTIONISM

This is something I struggled with for many years because I had a mindset that was not accepting. I was functioning from a mindset of paucity and perfectionism, which left no room for error and created chronic elevated levels of stress in my life. Perfectionism is about putting a perfect foot forward, which is impossible. Perfectionism is critical and judgmental, without accepting the reality of our human frailties. Progress is accepting that we can only do the best we can. In doing the best we can, we please and honor God and maintain our joy, peace, and contentment daily.

WHAT PUTTING YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD LOOKS LIKE

Putting your best foot forward requires the complete involvement of your mind, body, and soul. It is being in optimal health physically; having a healthy mental framework, which allows you to think thoughts that are pure and grounded in truth; and living from a state of emotional intelligence and resilience. This then reflects in all areas of your life, which means you make healthier decisions and choices more often than not. It does not mean that there will not be trials and tribulations along the way, rather that you will respond more effectively during your trials and tribulations.

6 STEPS TO GETTING YOUR HEART’S DESIRES

  • There must be some fundamental beliefs on which your life is built.
  • There must also be some crucial truths that are absolutes.
  • You must accept certain facts and realities.
  • Discipline and self-control are also essential for your success.
  • Patience is a virtue that can derail you when it is absent.
  • You must operate from a foundation of UNCONDITIONAL love.
