7 Things That Are Abominations To The Lord

We know God does not like sin. That is a given, but these seven things the Bible says are abominations to the Lord.

Spiritual Beings Having Human Experiences

It is the human part that gets every one of us in trouble. For try as we might, we are not perfect. Accepting we are not perfect can be difficult for some people to embrace, which can lead to another set of problems. Learning to be STILL in the moment is so key for every aspect of our TOTAL HEALTH.

Be Mindful of These 7 Abominations

First, know whatever you have done, if you have a contrite heart, repent, and ask God for forgiveness, He will forgive you. Just remember that no one can fool God, for the Holy Spirit knows our hearts better than we do. I will be explaining them in my own words; however, if you prefer the actual Bible passage, it is Proverbs 6:16-19.

  1. PRIDE. Over and over again, we are reminded in the Bile that pride goes before a fall. In fact the ‘P’ in our malfunctioning GPS is pride. We cannot and will never know more than God. We cannot and will never be able to live abundantly without God. To think or believe otherwise is either prideful or delusional. Be humble, trust God, and let Him lead the way.
  2. LYING. No explanation needed. We all love to use the little white lie excuse, but a little white lie can do serious damage to your testimony as a Christian and can hurt other people. Lying interferes with our relationship with Jesus Christ. While the truth may be painful, it is always best to avoid lying directly or by omission.
  3. MURDER. This does not need me to explain. Do not kill anyone intentionally or premeditated.
  4. HARD HEART. The Bible tells us it is not what we put into our bodies that defiles us, rather it is what comes out of our mouths. For what comes out of our mouths is what is in our hearts. Ouch! That Bible verse really grabbed my attention. What’s in your heart? If it is not love, then it is time to EXAMINE YOUR STORY.
  5. MISCHIEVIOUS. Have you ever heard about someone saying that a person is so mischievous, they are always getting into trouble? A mischievous person is a malicious person who stirs up trouble and creates problems for others. Instead of indulging in mischief, try being kind and helpful.
  6. FALSE WITNESS. This is not just lying to someone; this is lying about someone. Stop spreading rumors. Stop participating in gossip. My mother always says, “beware of people who talk about others, because more than likely they will be talking about you when you are not around.”
  7. SOWING DISCORD. A person who is an instigator, one who delights in agitating friends and family with innuendos, which creates disharmony in the group. I would avoid people like that as much as possible; moreover, don’t be a person who is mean spirited and likes to stir the pot with outrageous and untrue comments.

Our Intentions And Attitude Matter To God

Remember, our goal is to be more Christlike, and we are still very much human. Thus, set your intention to do the right thing. Ask God to give you strength in every situation and know that when you sin, you can immediately seek God’s forgiveness. The objective here folks, is to act from a place of love, knowing sometimes you may slip up.
