The Many Ways We Quit On Ourselves Daily

If I asked you if you were a quitter, you would probably respond with an affronted, “Absolutely not!” Yet, if you are struggling with dis-ease or some addiction, the reason is probably because you have given up on yourself. Unconsciously or even consciously, you are believing or thinking that you are not worth the effort.

That May Shock You, But Therein Lies The Truth

I have often said that one of the most powerful weapons in our arsenal is not our heart, it’s our mind. The mind has the power to override the heart and your gut instincts. That is why we must be ever diligent and mindful of what is going on in our minds. We must check those thoughts and beliefs for validity and truth. We must also examine those thoughts and beliefs for relevance. How do we transform our minds to be powerful weapons on the side of our health?

That Is The 64 Thousand Dollar Question

However, there is an answer that everyone can employ to transform their minds to be a powerful weapon of defense against unhealthy. TOTAL HEALTH is not an illusion, it is also not a static condition. It’s a fluid state that shifts throughout the day, moment by moment that demands our attention and participation. You have to make a choice; in fact, you will have to make many choices throughout the day. The question you must answer is,” Will you make the healthy choice more often than not?” Take a look at your life right now. As painful as it may be for some of us, examine your story with honesty.

Use Love When You Examine Your Story

We can all have twenty-twenty vision looking back. But we must remember that sometimes, we made the best decision at that time. Examining our story is not about criticism and judgment, it is about discovering where the faulty mindset developed, where the unhealthy beliefs and thoughts took root. The answer is to prune those limiting beliefs and toxic thoughts out of your mind with c.a.r.e. Then apply the salve of forgiveness and unconditional love. We have all made mistakes. We have all quit on ourselves throughout the day at some point in our lives. The objective is not to beat yourself up, but to recognize the signs.

What Quitting On Self Looks Like

It is choosing the easy and often unhealthy option repeatedly. It is lacking the patience to endure some discomfort. It is believing the doubts and lies that you are not enough. It is thinking over and over again that this one lapse won’t matter. It’s holding on to the comfort zone in fear of change. It is the delusional state of denial that light and dark can share the same space. It is refusing to let go of the unhealthy because you believe you can juggle both. It is failing to recognize that you are destroying yourself by ignoring your health. It is telling yourself that it is too hard to be healthy. It is choosing to love the unhealthy over loving yourself. Every time we choose the unhealthy action, we are saying we love this more than we love ourselves, we are quitting on ourselves and destroying our TOTAL HEALTH.

Start Loving Yourself Unconditionally

It’s not indulging in everything. It is setting healthy boundaries and sticking to them. There is a need to keep the promises you make to yourself as well. When we repeatedly fail to keep our self-promises, we damage the trust we have in ourselves. We begin to lose confidence in ourselves. Your transformation starts with and ends with LOVE! Start practicing healthy self-love with c.a.r.e. today.
