BECOMING ONE WITH JESUS CHRIST MEANS LOSING SELF

A scary thought only when we allow the ego to intervene. I have come to appreciate that the ego is concerned with one thing and that is serving our fleshy needs. Furthermore, knowing that the flesh is weak, why do we allow the ego to take control.

WE ARE ALL WORKS IN PROGRESS

Many of us allow the ego to take control, because we want instant gratification. As a Christian, who is studying to become a deaconess, I must lean on my faith. I must trust that God is in EVERY story. When we shift our FOCUS from God, it is so easy for FEAR to derail us. Remember, when we look closely, we can see that fear is one of the tools the devil uses to motivate us to make POOR choices. KNOW that the devil cannot make us do anything; therefore, we must take responsibility for our poor choices. When we take responsibility, we empower ourselves to effect the change we desire.

HOLD ON TO HOPE DESPITE WHAT YOU SEE OR THINK

If you believe in Jesus Christ, by default you must believe in the spiritual realm. Following that logic, you KNOW that whatever you are going through, God already knew you were going to go through that when you were born. Even before we made those poor choices, God knew we were going to make them, and still, He loves us unconditionally. Yet, that does not mean our poor choices do not have consequences that negatively impact our TOTAL HEALTH. I often wonder why God does not stop us, but I realize He has given us the free will to CHOOSE. He has also given us the blueprint to living abundantly, and we IGNORE IT. Thus, take a second to recall times when you knew you were about to do something that was unhealthy and still, you did it. We have all done that at some point in our lives. In 2018 I had a wakeup call that my TOTAL HEALTH was being severely compromised and something HAD TO CHANGE!

WE STRUGGLE TO PLEASE GOD IN THIS WORLD

Our sense of SELF needs to be better understood. Unfortunately, we are made of flesh and spirit. The unfortunate thing is that the Spirit knows what is best for us, but often we go with the flesh. Our EGO consistently rears its ugly head and convinces us that the shiny and new is better than the old and tried. For the record, I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT GOD’s WAY IS BEST. My problem comes from me forgetting that oh so important virtue called, patience. To be still, to be at peace, to be calm, to maintain my serenity in the face of trials and tribulations is a HUGE issue for me. When we remember that God is Sovereign and wants only the best for us, we MUST KNOW that He will work all things out for the good of those who love him. Therefore, we should also have certainty from His assurance that HE will never forsake us.

LOVING GOD MEANS LEARNING TO FULLY TRUST HIM

Trusting God means learning to fully surrender our will and let Him lead. It means being PATIENT and wait with joyful expectancy for His solution. It is knowing that we are whole when we fully embrace the Spirit. When we are FULL of love, we are FULL OF GOD and self comes to the REALIZATION that there is NO EGO, only love. I say it was a weight loss journey, but that is a fallacy. I lost 60lbs, but it was not a weight loss journey, it was and continues to be a spiritual journey. A journey that can only end positively, my reunion and becoming one with Jesus Christ.
